PUPPETS + RESISTENCIA is a collaboration between teaching artists Jasmin Cardenas and William Estrada leading to the creation of bilingual puppet plays exploring the impacts of policing on communities of color. In this two-part series, “Tú Eres Mi Otro Yo,” Jasmin and William examine the ripple effects of harm on a family and within a community. From interpersonal harm to the harms enacted against communities through ICE raids, “Tú Eres Mi Otro Yo” explores these themes through an experimental puppet play staged in Estrada’s Chicago studio.
